The Clalit Health Fund accounts for 38% of Meitavit's contribution receipts.
Clait Health Fund workers committee today published a tender for pension insurance. General Health Fund currently has 10,000 employees at Metiavit pension fund, generating NIS 137 million in premiums a year. Clalit Health Fund is Meitavit's largest customer, accounting for 38% of its receipts.
Clalit Health Services workers committee chairman Prosper Benhamou is an associate of Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) chairman MK Amir Perez. Benhamou said, "We don’t trust the Ministry of Finance and we want to avoid damaging pensions. We want to be in a pension fund that will represent the workers, to ensure that the pensions are safe."
Clalt Health Fund will gradually leave Meitavit. Since customers may only start switching pension funds in October, the winner of the Clalt Health Fund tender will initially only be able to sign up new employees. Nonetheless, the value of Meitavit, which is about to be privatized, will be severely harmed. The pensions administration estimates Meitavit's value at NIS 53 million.
