Israeli start-up CogniFit Ltd. announced today that it recently signed $5-8 million in contracts for Canada, England, France and Finland. The most recent contract was with driving school Young Drivers - Canada, part of Young Drivers International (YD) which is owned by the Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F). CogniFit will supply its FleetFit software to train and develop the cognitive abilities of professional drivers, and fleet drivers. The contract is for a three-year period.
According to CogniFit VP marketing Yossi Mazel, the new contract was signed after the success of its first product, DriveFit, a new driver training program software that YD Canada began using one year ago. According to Mazel, YD Canada is the fourth organization to sign a contract of this kind with CogniFit. Other customers include the British School of Motoring (BSM), Young Drivers - Finland, and Codes Rousseau of France.
CogniFit creates state-of-the-art applications that assess, train and enhance cognitive and psychomotor abilities. CogniFit has developed unique techniques to measure, test and train cognitive abilities and psychomotor skills that are part of everyday life. The programs developed are based on a five-stage process. In dedicated programs, CogniFit's technology concentrates on abilities that were found to be related to a specific need, such as driving skills and performance as in the case of DriveFit. The DriveFit technology was awarded the prestigious Prince Michael International Award for Road Safety for its outstanding contribution to road safety in the UK.
CogniFit is a start-up company founded in 1999 by Prof. Shlomo Breznitz, an internationally recognized authority in the field of psychology. Prof. Breznitz served as the Lady Davis Professor of Psychology and the founding director of the Center for Study of Psychological Stress at the University of Haifa. Professor Breznitz has written seven books and numerous professional articles. He has also been visiting professor at leading institutions such as: London School of Economics, Berkeley, Stanford, and National Institutes of Health. He has served as both the rector and the president of the University of Haifa.
