Israel Ambassador Daniel Ayalon: The agreement stresses defense and security.
US Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton and Ambassador of Israel Daniel Ayalon yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for scientific and technical cooperation between their two countries. The signing ceremony was held at the Office of the Secretary of the Interior, in Washington, DC.
The MOU is for cooperation in earth science studies, geospatial data, information technology, biological investigations and water resources development.
Ayalon told "Globes" that the MOU was the result of several years of ongoing contact between the two countries. He said that the agreement placed an emphasis on security, including protection of water resources, and data security.
