Technological Incubators Program director Rina Pridor: The planned NIS 900 million cut will make it impossible to go on.
Technological Incubators Program director Rina Pridor recently notified technology incubator managers that if the planned NIS 900 million cut in the state R&D budget is implemented, all incubator programs involving state aid before venture capital is invested will be closed.
In a letter to incubator managers, Pridor wrote, “It’s clear that if implemented, the cuts will make it impossible to continue this important program.
At the same time, the incubators committee, headed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Labor Chief Scientist Dr. Eli Opper, approved NIS 9 million for five new incubator companies.
Opper said that the incubators in outlying areas had succeeded far and beyond expectations in attracting excellent projects, which were the equal of projects in the central region. He said that effective management and guidance of the incubators by the incubator management deserved the credit.
