Pharmaceutical company FineTech Laboratories has set up a plant in the Nesher incubator at a cost of $4.5 million. municipal company Nesharim Economic Company for Nesher is responsible for the incubator.
US-owned FineTech manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for various US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drugs.
FineTech president and CEO Dr. Arie Gutman founded the company in the 1990s while still a faculty member of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. The company has 70 employees. Gutman says the company is trying to trying to persuade its US investors to expand investments in Nesher.
FineTech was active in Nesher before setting up the new facility, having operated out of the local incubator since 1994.
