15 Huawei Technologies staffers will work at the Israeli R&D center, to be set up by local representative Solgood.
Huawei Technologies chairwoman Sun Ya Fang has announced that the company would set up an Israeli R&D center at a cost of $2 million. She made the announcement during a reciprocal visit by Chinese high-tech executives at the Israel Telecom 2004 exhibition in Tel Aviv. Solgood Communications, Huawei's exclusive representative in Israel, will set up the R&D center in the center of the country. 15 Huawei R&D department representatives will work at the Israeli R&D center.
Minister of Industry Trade and Labor Ehud Olmert hosted the Chinese delegation. Olmert visited China in June 2004 at the head of a delegation of Israeli businesspeople as part of this effort.
During their two-week visit to Israel, the Chinese delegation and Solgood executives met with Israeli start-up and high-tech company executives and communications academics.
