The price tag was reportedly $1 million. Michael Flint served as WaisMed CEO for three years.
Sources inform “Globes” that Persys group subsidiary Persys Technology, has acquired the controlling interest in medical devices company WaisMed from A. Lapidot group managing director Ami Lapidot and Iscar Enterprises president Eitan Wertheimer. Sources involved in the deal say the price tag is $1 million. WaisMed has an estimated NIS 4 million in sales.
Persys has acquired WaisMed in partnership with a company owned by Michael ''Mickey'' Flint, who served as WaisMed CEO for three years, but resigned earlier this year.
WaisMed develops, manufactures and markets advanced intraosseous infusion (IOI) devices for bone marrow treatments. The company's first product is an automatic IOI device, called "BIG - Bone Injection Gun", which injects liquids and drugs into bone marrow, when intravenous delivery is impossible.
Wertheimer invested in WaisMed several years ago, one of several investments in technology start-ups.
Flint confirmed the report. He predicted that WaisMed would achieve NIS 40 million in sales by 2007.
