Yad Sarah gains UN observer status

Yad Sarah leases essential medical equipment to medical patients and the handicapped.

The “Yediot Ahronot” Hebrew daily reports that the UN has granted observer status to Yad Sarah. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that this is the first time that the UN has granted such status to a Jewish Israeli organization. Founded by Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, Yad Sarah leases essential medical equipment to medical patients and the handicapped. Yad Sarah helps people, including Arabs, without regard to race, creed, or gender.

2,500 organizations around the world enjoy UN observer status, including six Arab Israeli organizations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs credits the accreditation of Yad Sarah to intensive lobbying by the Israeli delegation to the UN and by the ministry in Jerusalem.
