Red Bend Software, a provider of firmware over-the-air (FOTA) update technology for mobile devices, today announced that Udi Dagan has joined the company as chief financial officer.
Red Bend helps mobile phone manufacturers and network operators accelerate the adoption of new services and features through FOTA updates. Siemens Mobile, Sony Ericsson, and other large handset manufacturering firms use Red Bend software.
Dagan, who will be based in Israel, will be responsible for the company's strategic financial management and operations and will report to Red Bend CEO Yoram Salinger.
Dagan has more than 20 years of experience in finance, operations, business strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Red Bend, Dagan held several executive positions at IBM, most recently as IBM's business consulting services country manager in Israel, where he directed a team of several hundred professionals engaged in projects in Israel, Eastern Europe and Asia. Prior to that, he served as chief financial officer for IBM Israel, vice president of operations for IBM Global Services in Israel, and manager of financial planning for IBM in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Salinger said today, "Udi's broad experience will provide vital support for our growth and success. His finance, operations and strategy expertise will help us build on our leading position in the fast growing market for FOTA solutions."
Founded in 1999, Red Bend Software is a privately held, venture capital-financed company with corporate headquarters in Framingham, Massachusetts.
