Pulver.com mission to honor Israeli VoIP pioneers

The goal is to bring members of the world's IP communications industry together "at the birthplace of commercial VoIP".

Pulver.com announced yesterday that it will host a VoIP mission to Israel on June 14 and 15.

Pulver.com stated that the purpose of this mission "is to bring members of the worldwide IP communications industry together at the birthplace of commercial VoIP, both to celebrate its 10-year anniversary and to explore expectations and identify new Israel-based technologies and companies."

Pulver.com is headed by Internet telephony/VoIP industry pioneer Jeff Pulver, publisher of "The Pulver Report" and "VON" magazine. Pulver is the founder of a number of IP communications companies, including Free World Dialup, LibreTel, pulverInnovations, and Blue Lava Software, and has testified before the FCC, the US Congress, and numerous agencies interested in IP communications. "BusinessWeek" named Pulver one of their "Gurus of Technology" in 2003.

"February 15th marked the 10 year anniversary of VocalTec Communications' (Nasdaq: VOCL) introduction of the IPhone and the commercial starting point of the IP communications revolution, and we want to recognize VocalTec and the many other Israeli companies that are responsible for helping to make VoIP happen over those 10 years," said Pulver.

"This VoIP mission has been a Pulver.com work-in-progress for over five years, and we expect it to be well-attended by leaders in the IP communications industry from all over the world."

"The VoIP industry first began in Israel and has truly revolutionized the entire telecommunications space," said VocalTec CEO Dr. Elon Ganor. "We're honored that Jeff Pulver -- who is a globally renowned thought leader in the IP communications industry -- has decided to organize this event, and we expect that it will be a great forum for discussing the latest developments in the industry and sharing ideas for the future."
