14-storey high-rise approved for Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital

The contractor has asked that the approval procedures be expedited because he has NIS 200 million available in donations for construction.

The Jerusalem Regional Planning and Building Board has approved a 14-storey, 65,000-sq.m. hospitalization building for Hadassah Medical Organization Ein Kerem on a 3.5-dunam (0.875-acre) lot. Due to the sensitivity of the area the Planning Board ruled that construction would begin only after coordination between regional planner Anat Zur and Jerusalem municipal engineer Uri Sheetit. The contractor has asked that the approval procedures be expedited because he has NIS 200 million available in donations for construction.

Zur told "Globes" that the high-rise would improve the welfare of patients at Hadassah Ein Kerem. She said the hospital currently has 22 sq.m. per patient, and that the new building would increase space to 50 sq.m. per patient.
