Last week, Lucent Technologies announced an exclusive teaming agreement with Israeli company Beyond Security to provide a new automated vulnerability detection service (AVDS) to service providers worldwide using Beyond Security's automated scanning server products.
Sources inform "Globes" that the agreement could be worth tens of millions of dollars revenue annually for Beyond Security.
Under the agreement Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) will actively market and sell Beyond Security's AVDS to its service provider and business partners worldwide as a new security assessment and vulnerability service. The service, which is based on Beyond Security's Automated Scanning Server solution, will enable service providers worldwide to be compliant with Sarbanes Oxley regulations and their own internal controls, as well as detect network vulnerabilities using real-time security scans.
Beyond Security's AVDS performs a security mapping of an organization's network and simulates attacks originating from either the internal or the external network. Once the security mapping is complete, AVDS generates a detailed vulnerability report specifying the security breaches, along with several practical and easy-to-apply solutions to fix those vulnerabilities. The engine is updated on a regular basis for the most recent security vulnerabilities. The updates include security vulnerabilities that were discovered by the company's research and development team, as well as those discovered elsewhere.
Customers implementing this service are going to be able to have, for the first time, a real-time view of their entire network security topography and will be able to clearly demonstrate compliance with emerging global IT security standards and integrity legislation.
"The agreement with Beyond Security enables us to offer our customers a unique value-added network security service that will help our customers truly detect network vulnerabilities and security risks before they happen," said Keith White, director of Security Services, LWS, Australia.
Beyond Security CEO Aviram Jenik, CEO said, "Accurately assessing network vulnerabilities and securing the corporate infrastructure are important security initiatives for all companies and Lucent's security services portfolio offers us another channel to sell our information security solutions globally."
