Revolver is developing comprehensive development platforms for animation and 2D and 3D online games.
Incubator Maayan Technology Ventures today announced that it had invested $500,000 in start-up Revolver. Revolver is in the initial stages of developing comprehensive development platforms for animation and 2D and 3D online games. The Office of the Chief Scientist has already approved Revolver's operations at Maayan.
Revolver was co-founded by CEO Amir Fischer, formerly EagleShade VP business development and Alfy Israel; and director of development Daniel Anisman, formerly ZOW director of development of wireless games platforms; and science technology director Prof. Gershon Elber, a member of Technion - The Israel Institute of Technology faculty of computer science and an expert in computer geometry and graphics. Elber previously co-founded GeomCore and developed the IRIT solid modeling system used by R&D institutes worldwide.
Maayan Technology managing director Tsvika Ben-Porat said, "Revolver's launch is the third by Maayan since the beginning of the year, in line with the revival of the early-stage investment market. The software that Revolver is developing is based on original and innovative technology. It is a development environment that provides a revolutionary solution for network 3D. It also makes significant savings of resources and is easy to use by both games developers and players. We believe that the product has broad market potential, as reflected by IDC data showing that the digital media field is expected to reach $2.6 billion by 2007."
