BDI: Teva highest rated Israeli company

Israel’s 100 most highly rated companies include six insurance companies and three banks.

Business Data Israel (BDI) has chosen Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) as the most highly rated Israel company this year. BDI cited Teva’s impressive achievements in Israel and overseas in all parameters considered. The 100 highest rated companies unexpectedly included 43 industrial companies, of which 22, over half, were high-tech companies.

Eleven of the top 100 companies were financial and banking companies, unexpectedly including six insurance companies, but only three banks. The three major wireless operators, two largest Internet providers, four main fuel companies, and two leading transportation companies (El Al Israel Airlines (TASE: ELAL) and Zim Integrated Shipping Services) also made the list.

Channel 2 franchise holder Keshet Broadcasting was the only broadcasting entity in the top 100.

BDI considered 500 leading Israeli companies for its BDI-Code list of the 100 highest rated Israeli companies. Over 500 Israeli managers were asked to choose to choose the companies that they rated the highest. A number of key factors affected the rating, including corporate branding. BDI says that it found a direct correlation between a company’s investment in brands and its rating. A leading position in a sector and international connections also contributed to improving a company’s rating.
