Tue: Rate cut lifts market

Dimri led the gains in a late rally following the Bank of Israel’s third consecutive decision to cut the interest rate.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today in a late rally after the Bank of Israel cut the interest rate to 3.25%. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.22% to 4,147.81 points, the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.68% to 4,084.21 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 0.58% to 631.29 points. Turnover totaled NIS 5.69 billion in equities and NIS 4.73 billion in bonds.

On the foreign exchange market, the representative shekel-dollar rate was set 0.803% higher from Monday, at NIS 3.012/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set 0.762% higher, at NIS 3.492/€.

On the market, the Banking Index rose 0.53% and the Real Estate Index rose 3.51%.

Dimri (TASE:DIMRI) rose 5.47% for the biggest gain on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today. Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 0.6% and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.62%.

Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE:ESLT) rose 2.69%, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 2.89% and Ormat Technologies Inc. (NYSE: ORA; TASE: ORA) rose 3.26%.

OPC Energy (TASE: OPCE) fell 4.67% for the biggest fall today on the Tel Aviv 35 Index. Camtek (Nasdaq: CAMT; TASE: CAMT) fell 4.64%, and

Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE:TSEM) fell 2.81%. Nova Ltd. (Nasdaq:NVMI; TASE:NVMI) fell 2.88% and Enlight Renewable Energy (Nasdaq: ENLT; TASE: ENLT) fell 3.04%.
