The Ministry of Environmental Protection has issued a warning of high air pollution throughout Israel because of concentrations of dust. Together with the Ministry of Health, the Environment Ministry recommends that people sensitive to such pollution, such as those suffering from heart disease, old people, young children, and pregnant women, should avoid physical exertion.
The hazy weather conditions are connected to air streams carrying dust from the East to our region. Conditions are expected to improve toward evening and overnight.
At present, especially high concentrations of particles injurious to the respiratory system prevail in the Jerusalem and Judean Hills area, on the Golan Heights and in Galilee, the Jordan Valley and the Arava, and in Eilat.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection will continue to notify the public in accordance with information received from monitoring stations around Israel, through alerts on the Waze app about areas where air pollution is a hazard.
