The CDI-Allscripts lab in Beer Sheva will connect Israeli digital healthcare startups to the US healthcare market.

Israel's Center for Digital Innovation (CDI) has signed a strategic partnership with Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX) that includes setting up the CDI-Allscripts lab in Beer Sheva. The lab will establish a bridge for digital healthcare startups and entrepreneurs to the US healthcare market and will enable access to Allscripts Open APIs, innovation environments, and will provide an opportunity to participate in the Allscripts Developer Program.

The founding of this 'hands on keyboard' lab uniquely positions CDI and Allscripts at the forefront of digital healthcare innovation in Israel, enabling the creation of groundbreaking technologies, and shortening their time to the US market. This partnership is another key component in the end-to-end, personalized support program that CDI provides to startups and entrepreneurs.

Allscripts International and Sunrise Business unit president Rich Berner said, "The cooperation between Allscripts and CDI serves our commitment and vision to promote innovation in Israel and around the world through an OPEN, connected community of care. CDI introduces a unique platform for growing innovation, and we believe that the Allscripts-CDI lab will generate many new exciting technologies for the US and global healthcare community."

CDI CEO Ziv Ofek said, "This collaboration with Allscripts will drive a unique platform to promote innovation and startups in Israel. Allscripts is a leader in the healthcare information industry with a huge footprint in the US. This partnership will empower entrepreneurs in the digital healthcare space in their attempts to penetrate the US market. This, with the unique ecosystem of Ben-Gurion University, its medical school, and collaborations with hospitals positions us as a new innovation center forming a new paradigm.”

CDI's e-Health Innovation Center is a leading edge, novel, non-profit platform. CDI's vision is to address key challenges in the digital healthcare industry, and generate social, community and environmental benefits that improve the lives of millions of patients. CDI was created through the collaborative efforts of digital health entrepreneurs and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and aims to bring together start-ups, universities, healthcare providers, innovators, researchers, healthcare industry leaders, thought leaders and investors.

CDI’s goals are to promote medical innovation while encouraging the participation of strategic investors in the nurturing of developing technologies and the propagation of medical products to the marketplace. It will generate quality financial benefits for investors together with social, community, and environmental revenues to improve the lives of millions of patients in Israel and around the world.
