App testing co BlazeMeter raises $6.5m

BlazeMeter's cloud-based platform self-tests mobile and Internet performance.

BlazeMeter Inc., which has developed a cloud-based platform for self-testing of mobile and Internet performance, has raised $6.5 million in series A financing led by previous investor, YL Ventures GP Ltd., and joined by Glilot Capital Partners. The company will use the proceeds to further develop its JMeter mobile testing platform, establish leadership in the mobile testing market for application performance, and set up an office in greater San Francisco to expand its business in North America.

The company's single cloud-based platform carries all necessary performance tests for an app's life cycle from the early development stage, through production performance testing and subsequent stages. The company has 30 employees at its offices in Tel Aviv and San Francisco.

“BlazeMeter’s performance testing technology is a proven solution that has shown success time and time again with more than 500,000 tests conducted over 50,000 users since its launch," said YL Ventures managing partner Yoav Andrew Leitersdorf. "It brings new levels of ease of use to market for developers, which has contributed to its continued growth among Fortune 100 customers, and is something we look forward to helping the company expand."

“Application development is my passion,” said BlazeMeter founder and CEO Alon Girmonsky. “I consider creating tools that will simplify the application development and testing processes for developers as BlazeMeter’s mission. Our user base has grown six fold over the past twelve months and this is attributed to the increasing demand for mobile performance testing. The new funding will enable BlazeMeter to release many new features that will make this testing process even easier and more agile."
