Shari Arison sold 8.3 million shares in the bank for some NIS 167 million.

Shari Arison, who holds the controlling interest in Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI), has sold shares in the bank to the tune of NIS 167 million, according to a notice by the bank to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange today.

Arison sold 8.3 million shares that she owned through Salt Industries, a unit of Arison Investments. The sale was an off-floor transaction through IBI Brokerage Services, at NIS 20 per share. This represents a discount of 2.2% on yesterday's closing price.

After the transfer of the shares today, Arison will remain with a stake of about 20% in the bank, worth some NIS 5.7 billion.
