Brenmiller Energy, which develops advanced energy storage solutions, reported today that its combined thermal storage system had received a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office. The technology developed by the company includes heat exchange, thermal storage, and steam production from the storage unit.
Brenmiller's storage system is loaded from several energy sources, among them solar energy, natural gas, and residual heat, and it produces a stable supply of steam for power production or industrial uses. The technology is suitable for plants of various types and different sizes, and supports power transmission and distribution systems by diverting energy from low usage times to peak times.
"Our technology is based on thermal storage from a variety of energy sources, and facilitates efficient exploitation of renewable energy," Brenmiller Energy CEO Avi Brenmiller said today. "Registration of the patent in the US, which is one of our main markets, will help us in implementing this unique technology in other countries and other markets too."
