Israeli medical cannabis cultivation and production company Together (TASE:TGDR) has appointed former police chief Yochanan Danino as its chairman. Danino has also previously served as Migdal Insurance and Financial Holdings Ltd. (TASE: MGDL) chairman.

Danino said, "I am pleased to join Together, which is led by excellent managers and businesspeople. Over the past year, the company has built assets of major economic potential, both in terms of facilities and farms for cultivation in Israel and abroad and by signing agreements worldwide.

“The medical cannabis market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, which provides significant opportunities for Together Pharma, certainly in view of the approval of exports from Israel. The medical community, leading policymakers, and caregivers today fully admit that the medicinal benefits of the plant are unequivocal. Cannabis plant products provide a cure for patients daily, worldwide and in a wide variety of illnesses, whether they are patients suffering from cancer, epilepsy, pain, autism, depression, post-trauma and more."

“I plan to promote R&D activities as well as unique technologies and realize the knowledge gained over the years in Israel in the field of cannabis to develop products that will be the next generation of cannabis products for patients. From a business standpoint, I intend to contribute my experience in order to help the company leap ahead and become one of Israel and the world's leading companies in the field of medical cannabis, while unlocking value for all of the company's shareholders. "

Together CEO Nissim Bracha said, "I am delighted that Yochanan has joined the company's leading team and convinced that under his leadership, we will continue to promote the company by signing agreements in Israel and abroad, expanding R&D activities, and collaborating with leading players in the global medical cannabis industry."
