Less than five months after launching Cofix's first branch, its founder, Avi Katz is entering the alcoholic beverages market with the same concept of a drink for NIS 5. Next week, he will launch Cofix Bar, which will offer beer, wine, vodka, whisky, and other alcoholic beverages. These beverages can cost up to NIS 30-40 at a bar.
Cofix Bar will sell draft beer under a private label.
The first Cofix Bar will open at the corner of Lilienblum Street and Herzl Street in Tel Aviv's financial district where there is a high concentration of entertainment venues. A Cofix coffee bar will operate next door.
Cofix Bar will be open from the evening through the late night hours. It will have the 18 seats mandated by law, but will operate as a stand-up bar in the English style.
The opening of Cofix's first outlet on October 1, 2013, caused an upheaval in the cafe market. Cofix now has seven branches and plans to have 50 by the end of the year. The branches are owned by the company, but there are plans to transfer them to franchisees.
