Funding will support global expansion and establishment of European and North American offices.

Israeli start-up Applicaster, which provides cross-screen TV apps today announced a Series B funding round of $10.5 million., The round was led by Pitango Venture Capital with participation of current investor 83North Venture Capital (Formerly Greylock IL). This brings total funding to date to $18.5 million.

To date, Applicaster has launched over 100 applications for over 40 customers around the world, viewed and touched by millions of people. Its offering provides versatile tools for Tier-1 commercial broadcasters, and the right strategies for pay TV channels, Cable Cos and YouTube stars. Customers include Univision, Endemol, FremantleMedia, Talpa, Mediaset, Televisa, Telefe, Fox Intl, Mediacorp, and many more. Applicaster’s scalable solutions seamlessly integrate into current broadcaster workflows, and serve to increase engagement with TV content and promoted brands with transmedia, social TV, second screen and gamification activities.

Applicaster was founded in 2009 by CEO Jonathan Laor and CTO Neer Friedman.
