Low-cost airline easyJet will operate the new route four days a week.

British low-cost airline EasyJet announced today that it will operate a new direct flight between Tel Aviv and Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport. Tickets are on sale from today. The airline says it will operate the route four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, year-round. The first flight is scheduled to depart on October 26. This is easyJet’s tenth route from Tel Aviv since it started flying to Israel in November 2009.

The airline says that starting one-way fares from Tel Aviv to Amsterdam are priced from €48.49, including taxes, and from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv from €46.47. The lowest fare quoted on Israeli airline El Al's website for late October is currently $212.36.

easyJet's commercial manager in Israel Neil Slaven said, "As we put another new route on sale today, we’re pleased to be continuing to expand our network by offering new destinations for our passengers to and from Tel Aviv. We expect this route to and from the countries’ major cities to appeal equally to business and leisure travelers alike.

"The introduction of our Tel Aviv to Amsterdam service reiterates easyJet’s commitment to Israel and our intentions to continue offering Israeli passengers the destinations they want."

The Netherlands' Ambassador to Israel Caspar Veldkamp commented on easyJet's new route to Amsterdam, "The Netherlands is a hub for trade, investment and tourism, and Amsterdam a modern metropolis full of creativity, innovation and cultural and historical highlights. This connection will provide yet another boost to our strong ties."
