The Brazilian Air Force will operate the new Hermes 900 to protect the 2014 World Cup.
Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has won a Brazilian Air Force contract to supply a Hermes 900 UAV to carry out safety and security missions in the 2014 FIFA World Cup games. The Hermes 900 will be equipped with a new and advanced intelligence gathering system considered as a breakthrough operational solution.
The Brazilian Air Force will operate the new Hermes 900 with its fleet of Hermes 450s. The new UAV will be delivered within two months. The contract is not material to Elbit Systems.
Elbit Systems's Brazilian subsidiary, AEL Systemas SA, will supply the Brazilian Air Force with technical and engineering support, as well as logistic and maintenance services.
