Fire disrupts Pelephone network

Normal service resumed gradually in the afternoon, following a fire at the Israeli mobile operator's Petah Tikva servers.

There were widespread disruptions this morning on the network of Israeli mobile operator Pelephone Communications Ltd.. Subscribers had serious problems in making calls, sending messages and surfing the Internet using Pelephone's network.

Sources inform "Globes" that the fault followed a fire at the mobile operator's servers in Petah Tikva, which damaged cables in one of the central control rooms. Pelephone recommends that users switch to wi-fi settings for surfing.

Pelephone said, "There may currently be disruptions in surfing for some subscribers. The matter is being handled and we are working to resolve the fault."

Normal service was resumed gradually during the afternoon.
