Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. will begin selling its sports cars in Israel in a few months. Sources inform ''Globes'' that the franchisee is Haim Danino, the brother of Israel Police Commissioner Yohanon Danino. The Aston Martin agency will open a showroom in Herzliya.
The sources added that the agency is also in talks with Tesla Motors Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) to import its electric cars, and with Automobili Lamborghini SpA.
Aston Martin, once owned by Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), is now an independent firm, which directly competes against Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, and other high-end carmakers. Its image is closely linked with James Bond.
The asking price for the basic Ason Martin Vintage is €140,000, and the company also produces a coupe sedan model, which rivals the Porsche Panamera, and an SUV. Aston Martin cars can reach 300 km/h.
Car industry sources estimate that, in Israel, Aston Martins will range in price from NIS 1 million to over NIS 2.5 million.
