Israeli cyber security company Intezer has raised $2 million in a seed round co-led by Samsung NEXT and Alon Cohen founder and former CEO of CyberArk Software Inc.(Nasdaq:CYBR) and FilesX (now IBM). Several additional angels participated in the round.
Intezer has developed a virtual "security camera" for the digital space of the enterprise. This system displays a simple visual map of all the software programs currently active within an organization at any given moment, down to the single code fragment level. It is able to deal with all the unrecognized software, using a unique technology that maps the software’s code DNA to identify its nature and origins.
Intezer was founded in 2015 by Itai Tevet, CEO and former head of CERT - the Computer Emergency Response Team of Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Roy Halevi, CTO and former cyber security architect for the IDF, and Alon Cohen, Founding Investor, founder and former CEO of CyberArk. Intezer is planning to double the size of its team over the coming year.
Intezer CEO Itai Tevet said, "Most cyber security products look for malicious activity and trigger an alert when identified. The issue is that attackers often succeed in misleading cybersecurity products. What’s unique about our product is it works like a security camera. It displays all activity, whether or not any malicious activity was detected. With this display, companies are aware of what's happening within their network at any given moment and does not have to wait for an alert. The enterprise is in full control. Our product provides the solution for defending critical systems in medium to large organizations. In Israel, we already have leading customers like Bank HaPoalim and several other major customers.
