On the eve of 2015, Israel's population has reached 8.296 million, the Central Bureau of Statistics reports. The population grew by 2% (162,000) in 2014 (the same growth rate as over the past decade) with 176,600 babies born, and the arrival of 23,000 new immigrants.
74.9% of Israel's population in Jewish (6.218 million), 20.7% are Arabs (1.719 million) and 4.3% are defined as others (359,000).
