Lufthansa is adding flights from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt and Munich and Germania Airlines to Dusseldorf.

Germany is consolidating its position as one of the most popular destinations for Israelis with both Lufthansa and Germania Airlines announcing the addition of flights between Tel Aviv and German cities.

Lufthansa, which currently operates 28 weekly flights between Ben Gurion airport and Germany, is adding three more weekly flights. Starting later this month, Lufthansa is adding a flight between Tel Aviv and Frankfurt, taking off from Israel on Saturday mornings. In November, Lufthansa is adding two new flights on the Tel Aviv-Munich route, taking off from Ben Gurion at 6.50 am on Sundays and 5.30 pm on Tuesdays.

Lufthansa director of sales for Israel Rolf Koller said, "Munich has for a long time served as the gateway for our customers to Bavaria and beyond."

In addition, Germania Airlines, which has been operating for 30 years and over the past year in Israel, is increasing the number of its weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Dusseldorf. From November, Germania is adding a third flight, which will take off on Sundays with tickets on sale for €100 (full service).

Tal Avation VP Nissim Sagis, who represents Germania in Israel, said, "Increasing operations in Israel is a testimony to the seriousness of our intention and Germania Airlines future plans in the Israeli market."
