The hiring program indicates Partner is planning to launch TV and landline services.

Sources inform "Globes" that the communications markets has been agitated in recent weeks by Partner Communications Ltd.'s (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) attempts at seeking out new employees with technical training, possibly indicating a plan to launch its own television services. It is unclear when the company is planning to launch these services, but technicians are being hired now. It will take quite a few months for Partner to assemble a team ready for action.

Partner has been planning to enter the television market for a number of years, but has hitherto refrained from this step for many reasons. Partner CEO Isaac Benbenisti said a number of times that his company would enter the television sphere, and this looks like one more step in that direction.

Partner's recruitment of technicians is also commonly attributed to the fact that the company is planning to expand its physical infrastructure and increase its landline business. The company is conducting a preliminary test in the central region, and has connected one building to its own fiber-optic infrastructure in order to provide customers with up to 1 gigabyte. Partner is planning a substantial independent expansion by renting infrastructure access from Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ).
