In response to the fake Facebook post, the Deadpool star said he would not make it to the premiere but promised to visit “one day”.

A viral Facebook hoax message from Ryan Reynolds to an Israeli fan drew the Deadpool star’s attention on Monday. The Canadian actor, who debunked the story, still reassured the hordes of fans who shared the status that the country was in his "top 1 list of places I’d like to travel to."

The original Facebook status, which had been liked by tens of thousands of Israelis and shared by multiple groups on the social media network, was a screenshot of a purported conversation between Tom Yakobi and Ryan Reynolds, in which the latter promised to visit the country if the update received 15,000 likes and 1,000 shares.

In his response late Monday night, the actual movie star said, "I'm touched someone wants me to visit so much, that they faked a message from me saying I'd be traveling to your beautiful country. Unfortunately not this time."

While his Israeli fan base will surely be disappointed their favorite star will not come to the Deadpool premiere despite the success of the viral hoax, Reynolds promised that their wait will not be for naught: "But one day, Israel... I will be in you."

The popular actor also attached the Israeli poster for the movie in his post. Deadpool will be released in Israel on February 11.
