The shekel has weakened against the dollar, but strengthened against the euro in morning inter-bank trading today. The shekel-dollar exchange rate has risen 0.18%, compared with Friday's representative rate, to $3.467/$, but the shekel-euro exchange rate has fallen 0.35% to NIS 4.793/€.
The Bank of Israel did not set representative rates on Monday or Tuesday, because of Passover, and there was no inter-bank foreign currency trading on either day. On Friday, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.46/$, down 0.17% on Thursday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.81/€, up 0.06%.
In international markets, the dollar has weakened against euro and pound to $1.382/€ and to $1.674/£, but strengthened against the yen to ¥102.23/$.
On Monday, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.3% in March, above market expectations.
