Teva, Bezeq and Perrigo led the market higher today while NICE and IFF lost ground.
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.71% to 1,567.72 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.63% to 1,427.96 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 0.71% to 382.36 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.18% to 348.83 points. Trading turnover was NIS 562.4 million.
On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.573% at NIS 3.641/$ on Friday and set the shekel-euro rate down 0.18% at 4.106/€.
On the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 1.60% and Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) rose 1.75%. Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.83% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index. Shufersal Ltd. (TASE:SAE) rose 1.41%, Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) rose 0.84% and Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) rose 1.23%. Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 0.93% and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.04% on the day's biggest trading turnover.
International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) (NYSE: IFF, TASE: IFF) fell 2.02% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 Index and NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) fell 1.95%.
