Sun: Teva boosts bullish TASE

Teva and Perrigo rose strongly today but Shufersal led the declines.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.74% to 1,594.43 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.71% to 1,428.15 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 1.66% to 377.90 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.05% to 348.55 points. Trading turnover was NIS 409.6 million.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.515% at NIS 3.669/$ on Friday and set the shekel-euro rate down 0.303% at 4.179/€.

On the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 4.61% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index on the day's biggest trading turnover after the FDA approved its generic version of Mylan's EpiPen allergy treatment. Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) rose 3.89% and Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) rose 1.59%.

Shufersal Ltd. (TASE:SAE) fell 1.32% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 Index. Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) fell 0.93% and Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) fell 0.72%.

Outside the Tel Aviv 35 Index, Fox-Weizel Ltd. (TASE: FOX) rose 5.91% on strong second quarter results and Shapir Engineering & Industry Ltd. (TASE: SPEN) rose 5% after winning the tender to build and operate the new entrance highway to southwest Jerusalem.
