Thu: Financials send Bazan tumbling

The main indices fell today, leaving the Tel Aviv 35 Index down nearly 3% for the week. ICL and Bazan were outstanding decliners.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange fell today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index fell 0.81%, to 1,884.16 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index fell 0.69%, to 1,921.07 points; and the BlueTech Global Index fell 0.76%, to 404.61 points. The TelBond 60 corporate bond index closed unchanged, at 372.05 points. Turnover totaled NIS 2.38 billion in equities and NIS 3.87 billion in bonds.

For the week, the Tel Aviv 35 Index fell 2.9%. The index is up 1.0% for the year to date.

On the foreign exchange market, the shekel-dollar representative rate was set 0.96% lower, at NIS 3.6250/$, and the shekel-euro representative rate was set 1.0% lower, at NIS 3.9639/€.

ICL led trading today, and fell 2.58%. Bank Hapoalim fell 0.75%; Nice Systems fell 0.45%; Bank Leumi fell 0.73%; and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank fell 1.40%.

Notable advancers today were Magic Software Enterprises, up 4.30%, and Nofar Energy, up 3.94%. Bazan fell 7.21% after releasing 2023 financials showing a 23% decline in revenue; AudioCodes fell 4.48%; Opko Health fell 4.30%; and Delek Automotive Systems fell 3.72%.
