Tue: TASE higher despite extensive rocket fire on north

The banks and real estate stocks led the market gains today as chip stocks Camtek, Nova and Tower declined.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.97%, to 2,048.79 points, the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 1.22% to 2,042.29 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 0.49% to 406.99 points. The All Bond corporate bond index rose 0.10% to 382.55 points. Turnover totaled NIS 2.40 billion in equities and NIS 6.15 billion in bonds.

On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the representative shekel-dollar rate down 0.159% from Monday, at NIS 3.773/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set 0.057% higher at NIS 4.202/€.

Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) led the market today, rising 1.92% on the day's biggest trading turnover. Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 1.69, Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 1.29%, and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank rose 2.81%.

Real estate stocks rose strongly today with Mivne Real Estate (TASE: MVNE) rising 4.02% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today. ICL (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) rose 2.34% and Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE:ESLT) rose 0.67%.

Camtek (Nasdaq: CAMT; TASE: CAMT) fell 2.43% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today. Nova Ltd. (Nasdaq:NVMI; TASE:NVMI) fell 2%, Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE:TSEM) fell 1.11% and Sapiens International NV (Nasdaq: SPNS; TASE: SPNS) fell 1.68%.

Outside of the Tel Aviv 35 Index, Maytronics Ltd. (TASE:MTRN) rose 4.93%.
