Tue: Tower soars on flat TASE

Tower rose by 12.88% after reporting its fourth quarter results but telcos Bezeq, Cellcom and Partner all fell.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was flat today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index was unchanged at 1,568.59 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index fell 0.15% to 1,426.77 points; and the BlueTech Global Index fell 0.57% to 380.09 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.05% to 349.83 points. Trading turnover was NIS 925.6 million.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate up 0.304% at NIS 3.631/$ from Monday's rate and set the shekel-euro rate down 0.127% at 4.095/€.

On the market, Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) rose 12.88% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index on the day's largest trading turnover after reporting its fourth quarter results. Airport City Ltd. (TASE:ARPT) rose 1.51% and Amot Investments Ltd. (TASE:AMOT) rose 0.98%. Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) rose 1.04%, Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 0.46%, and Shufersal Ltd. (TASE:SAE) rose 0.58%.

Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) fell 5.46% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 Index. Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) fell 3.24% and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 3%. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.38% and NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) fell 0.79%.
