A NIS 1.09 billion lawsuit has been filed with the Beersheva District Court against Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: CHIM) Industrial Products Division. The petitioners claim that the company emits hazardous materials into the air, and should compensate Negev residents for damage to their health.
The petitioners have asked the court to recognize the claim as a class action lawsuit.
Israel Chemicals said that it had not yet assessed the lawsuit, its chances, if any, or effects.
