Amdocs set for more layoffs

The billing software developer has fired about 400 Israeli employees in recent months.

Sources inform "Globes" that billing and customer service software developer Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX) is expected to fire dozens more employees in the next few days.

At the end of September 2008 Amdocs had over 17,000 employees, about a quarter of them in Israel. Since then the company has laid off hundreds of employees worldwide due to the global economic crisis. 400 are believed to have been employed in Israel.

In addition Amdocs closed down its Jerusalem development center in late 2008, consolidating its activities to Hod Hasharon. The company has other centers in Ra'anana, Haifa, and Sderot.
