Chip co ASOCS completes internal funding round

ASOCS has raised about $20 million to date in two rounds.

Sources inform "Globes" that Chip developer for wireless communications ASOCS Ltd. recently completed an internal funding round worth several million dollars. ASOCS has raised about $20 million to date in two rounds.

There has also been a change at the top in ASOCS with Dr. Yossi Perl appointed as chairman in place of Gideon Ben-Zvi. Dr. Perl has previously served in senior management with DSPC until shortly before its sale to Intel for $1.6 billion in 1999.

ASOCS, which was founded in 2003 by Prof. Shimon Litsyn of Tel Aviv University and Doron Solomon, is developing a revolutionary approach to communications and runs multiple communication standards concurrently on a single chip.
