Mellanox switch in new HP product

The HP solution includes servers, networks, storage, and cluster management software.

Fabless semiconductor company Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX), announced that HP will use Mellanox's Infiniband switch in the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio. The HP solution includes servers, networks, storage, and cluster management software.

HP will integrate the MTS3610 324-port 40Gb/s InfiniBand switch. MTS3610 switches provide up to 25.9 terabits per second switching capability, and non blocking 40Gb/s bandwidth per port.

Yokne'am-based Mellanox said that together with its other products, the MTS3610 enables a 400% reduction in the number of adapters and cables when compared against 10-Gigabit Ethernet systems while delivering four times the bandwidth. The Mellanox InfiniBand switch also reduces power, space, and cooling costs when compared with other switches of similar capacity.

Mellanox Technologies develops connectivity solutions for servers and storage that optimize data center performance.

Shares in Mellanox closed yesterday at $12.04, giving a market cap of $384.2 million.
