Ness wins Latin American defense deal

Ness will provide NessControl, a comprehensive command and control system for mobile tactical units.

IT service provider Ness Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:NSTC) has won a multi-million dollar contract to provide its NessControl command and control system to a major Latin American government. NessControl will be implemented for the country's special forces.

NessControl is a comprehensive command and control system for mobile tactical units. It comprises an advanced, independent and fully redundant communications infrastructure which enables the real-time collection, dissemination and analysis of data among all units linked to the system. Featuring state-of-the-art imaging capabilities, the highly versatile, integrated system handles a wide range of information.

Ness Technologies & Systems Group (TSG) president Michael Zinderman said, "We are very pleased to have won this strategically significant deployment in Latin America. NessControl's ability to supply reliable and precise information to special forces officers and field personnel in real time enhances the mission performance of any defense and homeland security organization."

Ness share rose 4.86% to $3.67 in earling trading today, giving a market cap of $142 million.
