Eshkolot Energy mulls Kiryat Gat power plant project

The Kiryat Gat power station is due to come on line by 2013.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that private power producer Eshkolot Energy Ltd. is in talks to build a natural gas-driven power plant in the Kiryat Gat industrial zone at an estimated investment of $200-250 million. The company has been seeking a strategic partner for the project for months, and is also in talks with natural gas producers Yam Tethys and East Mediterranean Gas Company (EMG) on a supply contract.

The Kiryat Gat power station is due to come on line by 2013.

Israel Natural Gas Pipelines Company has completed the pipeline to Kiryat Gat area, and the town's industrial zone, four kilometers from the pipeline terminal, is due to be hooked up within a year.
