Major-General Eliezer Shakedi stepped down from the IAF 18 months ago.
El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE:ELAL) board of directors has chosen former Israel Air Force commander-in-chief Major-General Eliezer Shakedi as its new CEO to succeed Haim Romano.
The selection of the airline's new CEO was not meant to be discussed at today's meeting. However, yesterday evening the board of directors were informed that the topic had been placed on the agenda.
El Al's board of directors was asked to choose between three candidates Shakedi, Shlomo Liran and Giora Bar-Dea. Shakedi, who was eventually chosen, was head of the Israel Air Force until 18 months ago. The handover from Romano to Shakedi is expected to take two months.
