Broadband data and telecommunication systems developer BATM Advanced Communications Ltd. (LSE: BVC) has received an order from a foreign military force.
The contract is for the development and supply of a modified version of the company's new generation of secure, high speed access platform. The system has been through four years of testing.
BATM will be the sole supplier of such platforms to this customer.
The contract is worth about $5 million between 2010 and 2011. However, BATM expects additional equipment orders to follow the initial deployment.
BATM hope the deal leads other defense forces to place orders.
BATM CEO Dr. Zvi Marom said," Military communications, by their very nature, need to be the best of breed and we are confident that this contract will pave the way for future opportunities for BATM, from both military and homeland security customers."
BATM, with 400 employees around the world, is based in Kfar Netter.
