Korea's Doosan wins IEC scrubber order

The equipment is for the Ashkelon and Hadera power plants.

South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction Ltd. has won an Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) international tender for sulfur dioxide scrubbers for the company's Ashkelon and Hadera power plants. Doosan beat seven companies in the tender. The tender is worth $140 million.

Doosan will provide the scrubbers for units 5 and 6 of the Orot Rabin Power Plant in Hadera, the plant's two largest units. Doosan has an option to provide scrubbers for units 1 and 2 at the Rothenberg Power Plant in Ashkelon. IEC says that units 3 and 4 of the Orot Rabin Power Plant had the scrubbers installed when they built.
