Gaydamak ordered to attend February court hearing

If Arcadi Gaydamak does not appear in the Tel Aviv District Court, the State Prosecutor will seek an arrest warrant and extradition.

The Tel Aviv District Court has ordered Arcadi Gaydamak, Nachum Galmor, and the other defendants in the money-laundering case to appear next month and respond to the charges.

The Office of the State Prosecutor hinted when filing the charges that only if Gaydamak does not attend at least one court discussion, it will then ask its international department to issue an arrest warrant and seek his extradition.

Gaydamak has been in Moscow since December 2008 and claims that he cannot return to Israel due to ill-health. He is accused of laundering NIS 650 million and aggravated fraud. Galmor is accused of being the straw-man in the case.

Gaydamak's team of Israeli attorneys which includes Adv. David Libai, Adv. Dapfna Libai, and Adv. Ronen Rosenblum, have been joined by Adv. Nati Simchoni.
