Wireless chip company Wisair Ltd. has raised $5.7 million from existing investors, and a further $3 million loan. Since its establishment in 2001, the company, which develops Ultra Wide Band (UWB) and wireless USB solutions has raised $70 million not including the latest funding round.
The company's investors include Susquehanna Growth Equity, Advent Venture Partners, and two Japanese funds, Bridge Capital Fund, and Yasuda Ventures as well as Vertex Venture Capital, Apax Partners, Tamar Ventures and Intel Capital. The company was founded by CEO David Yaish and Yehuda and Zohar Zisapel and is part of the Rad Group.
The company will use the new funds to increase production to meet higher demand and try to break even in 2010.
