Israel's exports up NIS 500m in six months

Ashra Israel Export Insurance: The export support program will boost exports by more than NIS 1 billion in 2010.

Since the Ministry of Finance and Ashra Israel Export Insurance Corp. Ltd. launched their joint program six months ago, Israeli exports have grown by NIS 500 million, according to the semiannual report by Ashra. Ashra also predicts that the export support program will boost exports by more than NIS 1 billion in 2010.

The joint export support program, activated in July 2009, is a response to the sharp increase in exporters' credit risk. The program enables Ashra to use government guarantees to top up insurance coverage for exporters. The expanded credit lines are provided through an easy procedure and in very short time, and the government increases, at exporters' requests, exposure that Ashra insures, by up to 50%, on the basis of insurance decisions by Ashra and its reinsurers.
